Horizon Academy Institute
is dedicated to celebrating and fostering Islamic education excellence and developing leaders through transformational learning. For 19 years, we have provided comprehensive Islamic, Academic, and Leadership programs for children, youth, and adults in Calgary.
Our full-time Horizon Leadership Academy (Kindergarten to Grade 9) integrates the Alberta Education curriculum with Arabic, Islamic Social Studies, Quran, and leadership studies. We are proud to be recognized as the Best Islamic School in Alberta, recently ranking 50th out of 729 schools across the province by the Fraser Institute, up from 75th out of 848 in 2024.
Beyond academic achievement, Horizon Academy offers the “Best Weekend & After School Program in North America”, including Quran Tahfeez, Youth Leadership, High School Arabic credit courses, and Arabic classes for all ages. We empower students to become value-driven leaders who contribute positively to society, as demonstrated by our “Do Good Ranking” initiatives, which encourage looking beyond academics and community service, such as raising over $8,915 to sponsor children in Gaza. Our unique educational model fosters pluralism, contribution, individual well-being, and societal creativity within an alternative worldview based on Islamic principles and values
