I joined the Horizon Academy Institute (HAI) Weekend Program at age 6, where I developed a solid foundation in Arabic and Islamic studies, which was invaluable for me growing up in Canada without regular exposure to Arabic. At 13, I enrolled in HAI's Youth Leadership DC Program, where I gained essential life and leadership skills. Creating a detailed 50-year life plan was particularly impactful, encouraging me to set goals in various areas of my life—family, faith, career, academics, and hobbies.
The program provided not only academic growth but also real-world experience. As an intern at HAI, I managed the library program, assisted with teaching, and organized events, all supported by HAI's dedicated staff and volunteers. These experiences equipped me with skills I still use today in my medical studies and other pursuits.
