At Horizon Academy Institute’s Sunday School, our Islamic Studies Program helps students learn about the Islamic faith in a friendly environment. We focus on important Islamic values, spiritual growth, and practical lessons that children can apply in their lives. Our program offers age-appropriate learning that evolves with each student.
Kids Classes
Islamic Studies Program Overview (Pre-KG to Level 7)
- Warm and Supportive Atmosphere: Our caring teachers create an environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported in their learning.
- Balanced Learning: We teach students to balance worship, good character, and positive interactions with others.
- Understanding Life’s Purpose: Students are encouraged to discover their talents and understand their roles as kind, responsible individuals, transforming themselves, society, and the world.
- Learning About Differences: While learning about Islamic beliefs, children are also taught the importance of respecting others with different views, fostering compassion.
- Spiritual and Critical Thinking: We emphasize the importance of daily spiritual practices and encourage students to think critically about the world as part of Allah’s creation.
PRE-KG & L1
4 – 6 years
Students will listen, speak, read, write, view, and represent in Arabic to explore thoughts, ideas, feelings, and experiences. Recognize and write Arabic Alphabets. Age-appropriate instruction, activities, will be provided to children to introduce Arabic Foundation Literacy and Numeracy.
GRADE 2 – 4
7- 9 years
Our level 2 to level 4 program serves a great number of students from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and cultures. Our Islamically infused teaching methods are designed to inspire students to become intellectually inspired and achieve their potential within a stimulating and caring learning environment.
Students will comprehend and respond personally and critically to oral, print, visual, and multimedia texts. We encourage all our learners to be actively engaged and involved fully with a hands-on approach to all learning experiences.
GRADE 5 – 7
10 -12 years
Students will use the Arabic language confidently and competently in a variety of situations for communication, personal satisfaction, and further learning. The main focus will be on reading, speaking and language comprehension which will be taught by looking at selected texts and dialogues highlighting everyday language. Students will be able to develop their communication
skills in Arabic. The aim is to create a comfortable atmosphere, where students are not afraid to speak or make mistakes, and enjoy communicating with the teachers and other students.
